North East ISD - Congratulations tracy hastings

 

Tracy Hastings has been the head girls basketball coach at Madison High School for the past 16 years.  She most recently became the first women’s basketball player to be inducted into the Angelo State University Hall of Honor.  Tracy Hastings played four years at ASU scoring 1357 points which ranks her 5th on the all time list.  She also averaged 8.9 rebounds for her career.  In every statistical category Coach Hastings ranks in the top five in ASU history. 

Tracy Hastings is a native of Wall, Texas.  Following high school she attended Angelo State and received her degree.  She began her coaching in North East as an assistant at Churchill High School.  Some 16 years ago she was named to the head position at Madison High School and has led the Lady Mavericks to over 340 victories and three district titles.  She was the San Antonio Coach of the Year in 2002 and the Texas Class 5A Coach of the Year in 2008.  Coach Hastings has been a board member of the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.  She also served as the sponsor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Madison High School.  She is a math major and teaches geometry at MHS.  Tracy is married to David Hastings and they have an eight year old son named Korson.

The North East Athletic Department congratulates Coach Hastings for this tremendous honor.  Thanks for being a North East coach and for the contributions you make to the students at Madison High School.
