Procedure:
Session 1: The librarian or teacher will explain to students the difference between a fable and a folktale. As a class the students will read a fable from starfall.com ("One Rice, Thousand Gold") aloud with the teacher. The students will then be introduced to the story elements chart on Kidspiration. The chart will be completed with the teacher.

Session 2: The librarian or teacher will review the story elements chart with the students. As a class, they will read the folktale "Mr. Bunny's Carrot Soup". Students will then read the story again with their partners. After the second reading, students will complete the Kidspiration story elements chart for the folktale.
