Procedure:
As a whole class, listen to the book, There was an Old Lady that Swallowed a Pie. After listening to the book, divide students into four groups to work at the stations. Stations include Sequencing, Dressing the Pilgrims, Corn Math and Turkey Art. Give students time to work through each station during the hour time period. For Corn Math: we ran the worksheet and bought kernels of corn. Students glue the number of kernels asked for on the ear of corn. On a sheet of manila paper, (4x16), students glue the ears of corn down in correct number sequence. Sequencing: students put the pictures in order according to the story. We used cookie sheets at the tables and had an answer card as well. Create a Turkey: students used red, orange, yellow, and brown construction paper to create a turkey. The body and head were circles, the legs were rectangles, and the feathers were triangles. We added googly eyes for fun. Dress the Pilgrim: Students click and drag the name of the clothing to the correct arrow. Students add their name to the paper and then can print it.
