Procedure:
Objectives 1.Students will be introduced to the Biography Genre. 2.They will examine the elements of a biography. 3. They will learn the differences between a biography, collective biography, and an autobiography. 4.They will also be able to locate the biography section in the library.

Procedure:

1.Explain to the students that they will be viewing a Power Point presentation about the genre-Biography.

At the end of the presentation...

1.Hand out the biography guide -Things to Remember About Biographies! 2.Have the students answer the questions so that they can find a biography that meets their interests.

Questions for students to ask of themselves when they are selecting a biography. These questions are on the handout, as well.

1. What makes the lives of certain people interesting to you? 2. What can you learn about a person by studying his or her life? 3. What might you learn about yourself by exploring someone else's life? 4. What famous person do you want to learn about?
