Unit/Lesson Overview: Students will go to an online site to read and understand causes and effects of erosion. They will organize the information they gain from the article into a graphic organizer using a provided template.

Introductory Activity (Warm-Up): Click on the
Erosion Information. Underneath the title, there is a picture of a house falling off a cliff. Click on that picture. Show this on your multimedia/TV and discuss what is happening with the class. Two other pictures will appear. Click on each of these and discuss as well.

Lesson: Save the Erosion template (File 1) to the student server. Mark it as Read Only.
In the lab, have the students navigate to the erosion template. Have them click on the link and read the online article. They then can click between the link and the graphic organizer to complete the assignment. The students should come to realize that erosion is the effect of weathering and water. But, erosion is also the cause of landform changes.

Reteach: To be determined by the teacher based on student needs.

Extension: Once students complete the graphic organizer, they can click over to writing view and elaborate each idea from the graphic organizer.
