Lesson: Before Lesson: Install the Photo Album Plug-in from Microsoft.com(Link 2).Day 1: Step 1: Begin by dividing the children into groups of 3-5 children with 1 digital camera for each group. Step 2: After returning to the classroom, upload all of the pictures to a folder all children have access to. Day 2: Step 1: Open PowerPoint, go to File/New/Photo Album on a '98 machine or Insert/Picture/Start New Photo Album on an XP machine. Step 2: Follow the on screen instructions for creating your photo album.(Link 3) Limit each Photo Album to 5 pictures. Step 3: Once the album is created, have your students help you label what they see in each picture. Step 4: Once you have used at least one picture from each resource, print your results by going to File/Print and under Print Options choose Handouts/6 per page for a mini book to send home or for a Half Book- use Handouts/2 per page, and for a big book- print in Slide mode.
