Extension: Students can complete the activity using other student names. You can do this in the computer lab as a whole group activity.
Guiding Questions: Where else would you find the first letter in your name?Do any of your friend's names begin the same as yours?
Summary Questions: I'm thinking of a name in our class that starts with the letter "A". Let students come up and point to the name of the student you are thinking of.
Reflection: This lesson should allow the students to make the connection that words are made up of letters and that words are always spelled with the same letters in the same order.
