Accommodations: Kidspiration will read the directions to the student. It will also read the sentences the student writes so they can listen, and then revise. You activate the oral reading features by clicking on the Ear icon in the menu bar in either Picture or Writing View. |
| Procedures |
Introductory Activity (Warm-Up): Using your multimedia/TV connection, practice rhyming as a whole class by completing the Rhyming Activity in the Internet Links area of this lesson plan. |
Lesson: Save the attached Rhyming Word template (file 1) to the student server so the students can access it. Once saved, right click on the activity, select properties, and mark the activity as Read Only.Have the students access the template by navigating to the location you saved it to. Have the students complete the activity in picture view by clicking and dragging 3 appropriate letters to each Super Grouper to create 3 new words for each rime. Next, have students move to Writing View and spell out each rhyming word on the pink line. Have the students use the rhyming words in a sentence on each blue line to show comprehension of the words created.

Extension: Students can return to Picture View and add appropriate clip art to match the words and sentences created.
